WHEN AND WHERE TO REPORT: Back to the top
You are required to report to the Jury Assembly Room on the seventh floor of the Fulton County Justice Tower on the date and at the time printed on the jury summons. If you are on standby status, you must call (404) 730-5099 after 5:00 p.m on the day before your service date to be informed by a recorded message if you should report on your scheduled date.

LENGTH OF SERVICE: Back to the top
Jurors are summoned for one day or one trial. If you are selected as a juror, you must serve for the duration of the trial. The average trial is two and one-half days. If you are not selected on the day that you report, then your service is complete and you are not required to report more than one day. The day ends at approximately 4:30 p.m.

For your convenience, restrooms are located in the Jury Assembly Room . Water fountains are located in the hall outside of the Jury Assembly Room. Fulton County is a smoke-free environment, therefore you must go outside of the building in order to smoke. (Please check with a Jury Clerk before taking an unscheduled break.) The vending area is on the first floor in Room 1755.

Fulton County has two cafeterias. The main cafeteria is located on the second floor of the Government Center. A cafeteria is also located in Room 1755 of the Justice Tower and serves light fare. If you exit the Justice Tower and turn right, McDonald’s and Kroger (w/deli) are located approximately one-half block to the right. If you exit the Justice Tower and turn left, Underground Atlanta (w/food court and restaurants) is approximately one-half block to the left.

PARKING: Back to the top
Parking is provided in the Blue Lot, located at the intersection of Fulton Street and Hank Aaron Drive. Exit Fulton Street from I-75/85 and proceed east on Fulton Street approximately 1-2 blocks and the lot is on the right side of the street. A shuttle bus runs from the parking lot to the

Justice Tower at 15 minutes intervals before 9:00 a.m. and at 30 minute intervals thereafter. This is the only parking that Fulton County provides. In the event of an early game at Turner Field, parking will be relocated to the lot at the intersection of Fulton Street and Pryor Street.

(Note: If you wish to pay for parking, there are lots located closer to the Justice Tower.)

MARTA: Back to the top
Take MARTA train to the Five Points Station and exit at the Peachtree exit. Walk south on Peachtree one block, turn left on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, and walk east two blocks to Central Avenue. Turn right on Central Avenue and walk one-half block to the entrance of the Justice Tower.

Expense checks in the amount of $25.00 per day for each day of service will be mailed within two weeks of the completion of your service.

POSTPONEMENT/EXCUSES: Back to the top
Request for postponement must be submitted in writing to Office of Jury Clerk , State Court of Fulton County, Room T7100, 185 Central Avenue, S.W., Atlanta, Georgia, 30303-3643. The request must be received no less than seven days prior to the starting date of your service.

MEDICALl EXEMPTION: Back to the top
Written verification by a physician must be submitted for any medical or psychological problem for which you are requesting a postponement or exemption from service.

AGE EXEMPTION: Back to the top
Exemptions are granted for citizens who are 70 years of age or older upon receipt of a notarized age affidavit. A blank affidavit is included with the juror packet.

NON RESIDENTS: Back to the top
If you are not a resident of Fulton County, you are not eligible to serve jury duty. Please submit proof of your permanent residence address. A copy of your driver’s license, voter registration card, signed tag receipt, or a utility bill reflecting your name and address is acceptable as proof of your new residence.

CHILDREN: Back to the top
Please do not bring children when reporting for jury service. If you have difficulty reporting on your first scheduled date because of scheduling problems, we will grant one postponement to provide additional time for you to make child care arrangements as there is no legal exemption for parents with small children.
